I was just about to delete my blog for failure to blog; then I thought of my friend Jack Pendarvis. Jack already told me once not to delete my blog. I hear, And I obey.

I always assumed that I was the only person named Jon Host, especially with the added fanciness of no "h" in my first name. Well, come to find out there's AT LEAST one other guy named Jon Host. I thought we knew all the Hosts, but apparently they're all over the place. This other Jon Host...let's call him Jon Host - the lesser, went to UCLA and does something extra fancy somewhere. I don't like him one bit. He seems like some sort of overachiever whose antics up with which I simple will not put!

There are AT LEAST 2 other Lydia Hosts living in Australia. Maybe they're some sort of fancy wealthy cousins that I never knew about. Maybe they'll invoight us to come dayown unduh!

Hostcards from the Edge

I worry that I don't take enough risks. I haven't skydived or fire-walked. I wear my seat belt, and I mostly stop at most stop signs. I be playin' it safe...until moments ago.

While looking for an envelope, I found a Kashi TLC granola bar (peanut peanut butter variety) in my desk, clearly from "some time ago". A quick check of the wrapper spine revealed an expiration date of July 16th, 2008. Uhhhhh, knock knock. That's two weeks ago! Well, I was hungry, so...I ate it! Doing so rather made me feel not unlike the fellow in the "The Transporter" movie series.

I didn't think I'd be one of those people who starts a blog, and then never posts again, yet here I find myself a full five days after my first post...posting my second post. It reminds me a little of my relationship with my new Father's Day present, a red Nintendo DS, and specifically the "game" Brain Age. Early on, I was "training" every day, clearly making my brain stronger and younger. Yesterday, I picked up my "li'l red computer", and it informed me that I'd been away for 10 days! Do I really need this thing keeping up with me, making me feel less than dedicated?

Yesterday, I finished building a corn toss game. We saw one in West Virginia a couple weeks ago at Ace Adventure Camp (wouldn't you consider a name change?). I plan to debut it tonight at my Mom's house (yard) where it's sure to provide plenty of one-arm-usin'-whilst-drinkin'-a-beer-with th'other'n fun for me, my siblings, and my children (not the -whilst-drinkin'-etc. part for the children!!!!).
